Amazes Me

It amazes me how smart these guys are. I know I'm biased, but they're so cute and smart... it amazes me daily. I am way behind on updating you on their progress over the past month or so, but here's a quick insight to our last hour or so...

Logan: He's teething. They all are, but he seems to be the most bothered by it lately. We have found him starting to bite us every once in a while. Not a full bore, sink his teeth into something, but more like a quick nibble. He was sitting on my lap and Adam was sitting next to us. He bit my chest and I, surprised, jerked and quickly said "no!" He got mad at me and head-butted me (their newest thing when their mad - although my chest is softer than the floor which is their typical target). He then looked up at Adam, back at me and crawled over to Adam's arms giving me a dirty look. "I don't like you mom, I want dad!" It was so cute!

Alex: One of his newest favorites is Trucks. He loves to point at them as they go by. Or if they hear a big truck coming down the street, he'll go to the window and say "truck". They also found their belly buttons a couple of weeks ago, and since Alex has a shirt on today (vs. onesie), he keeps pulling up his shirt and showing us his belly button. You know they're saying belly button, but it isn't quite right. Alex also likes to sing to us every once in a while. He'll be mumbling and suddenly you realize he's saying "Ashes, Ashes... Down" (as in Ring around the rosies). His version of Aa-she, aa-shes... Adorable!

Nick: Nick has been helping out a lot lately by putting the toys away. Granted, he'll typically dump the toy box over, throw the toys all over, laugh hysterically, and then pick all the toys back up and into the box. (Dad particularly likes this last part of the process.) Lather, rinse, repeat. This afternoon, they all had their water cups in the play room and one was tipped over and dripping water on the carpet. Adam retrieved the cups and threw a towel into the room to dry it up. Nick was sitting there, grabbed the towel and tried wiping up the mess. How awesome!

We just had a dinner as a family (amazing). Adam fixed meatloaf and potatoes... we all sat down at the same time and had the same food. I also gave the boys spoons to use tonight. Usually they like to eat the spoons without any food on them. Tonight, Nick was actually picking up food, putting it on the spoon and eating it. Amazing...
